G.O.Ms.No.164 – Organisation of local cadres under the Water Resources Department relating to Water Resources, Engineer-inChief-under the Presidential Order, 2025 – Amendment

Order
In the circumstances stated by the Water resources Department vide references 2nd read above, after careful examination of the proposal and in partial modification of the orders issued in the G.O 1st read above, Government have decided to (i) organise the posts of (i) Non-Technical Personal Assistant to Chief Engineer, ENC and (ii) Non-Technical Personal Assistant to Superintending Engineer, ENC into Contiguous Zone Cadre, under the Water Resources Department relating to Water Resources, ENC. Accordingly, the following amendment shall be issued.
AMENDMENT
In the Annexure to G.O.Ms.No.142, General Administration (SPF&MC)
Department, dated:24.07.2026, –
(1) Under item “II. Classes of civil posts organized into Zonal Cadre.”, the
entries relating to Sl.No.2 (Non-Technical Personal Assistant in the O/o the
Chief Engineer, ENC) and Sl.No.3 (Non-Technical Personal Assistant in the
O/o the Superintending Engineer); shall be omitted. The remaining entries
therein shall be renumbered as Sl.No.2 (Assistant Engineer) to 14, with their
respective Appointing Authorities remaining unchanged;
(2) After item II, as amended above, the following table shall be inserted,
namely:–
II-A Classes of Civil Posts organized into contiguous Zone Cadre (either
full or part).

Note: The other conditions as specified in Paras-8 and 9 of the G.O.Ms.No.142,
G.A.(SPF&MC) Department, dated 24.07.2026 shall apply in toto to the above
contiguous Zone cadres, in terms of Para-5(1) of the Presidential Order, 2025.”
2. The Special Chief Secretary to Government, Water Resources Department shall take necessary further action in the matter, accordingly.
