G.O.Ms.No.159 – Organisation of local cadres under the Department of Police relating to Civil Police – Under the Presidential Order, 2025 – Amendment

In the circumstances stated by the Home Department vide references 3rd and 4th read above, after careful examination of the proposals and in partial modification of the orders issued in the G.Os 1st and 2nd read above, Government have decided to (i) organise the posts of Inspector of Police (Civil) and Assistant Administrative Officer into contiguous Zone cadre; and (ii) organise the post of Senior Assistant (Senior Office Assistant) into Zonal Cadre, under the Department of Police relating to Civil Police. Accordingly, the following amendment shall be issued.

AMENDMENT

In the Annexure to G.O.Ms.No.103, General Administration (SPF&MC) Department,

dated:15.07.2026: –

(1) Under item “II. Classes of civil posts organized into Zonal Cadre.”, the

entries relating to Sl.No.1 (Inspector of Police (Civil)) and Sl.No.3 (Assistant

Administrative Officer) along with appointing authority i.e., Deputy Inspector

General, in the corresponding rows and columns, shall be omitted; the remaining

entries shall be renumbered as Sl.No.1 (Sub-Inspector (Civil)), Sl.No.2 (Office

Superintendent) and Sl.No.3 (Special Category Steno), with their respective

Appointing Authorities remaining unchanged;

(2) Under item "II. Classes of civil posts organized into Zonal Cadre", as

amended (i) above, the following shall be added as Sl.No.4, namely: –

(3) After item II, as amended above, the following shall be inserted, namely:–

II-A Classes of Civil Posts organized into contiguous Zone Cadre (either full or

part).

Note: The other conditions as specified in Paras-8 and 9 of the G.O.Ms.No.103,

G.A.(SPF&MC) Department, dated 15.07.2026 shall apply in toto to the above

contiguous Zone cadres, in terms of Para-5(1) of the Presidential Order, 2025.”

2. The Principal Secretary to Government, Home Department, shall take necessary further action in the matter, accordingly.
